Every history has a beginning small enough to be missed. Thirty years ago, Handknit India began life as IDI Exporters, a business built to support women who had left their homes in Kashmir due to militancy. Within two years, we grew from a handful of knitters into a network of 2,000 women across 30 knitting units in North India.
For three decades, we have manufactured and exported hand-knitted garments for international brands, designers and yarn companies.
Our technical mastery in Aran knitting, Fair Isle and crochet brings intricate craftsmanship to contemporary fashion.
A level of technical mastery few hand-knitting collectives anywhere in world can match.
